Peugeot welcomes Government biofuel initiative |

| Peugeot is keen to make customers aware that their HDi diesel cars are already capable of operating on this environmentally friendly fuel. The proposal, announced at the Environmentally Friendly Vehicles Conference in Birmingham by the secretary of state for transport, confirmed that under a new Renewable Transport Fuels Obligation, fuel companies will have to ensure that at least five per cent of fuels sold in the UK are from renewable sources by 2010. This fuel is already in widespread use in Europe and regular diesel is supplemented with 5% Biodiesel fuel. In France there are controlled conditions, like captive fleets that operate with PSA Peugeot Citroen Group approved fuel with a 30% Biodiesel content - though this fuel is not currently available to the general public. |
